Privacy policy
How VehicleValue AI processes photos, protects the service, and handles optional advertising and analytics.
Who operates this service
VehicleValue AI operates VehicleValue AI at vehiclevalue.ai. For privacy questions or requests, email vehiclevalueai@gmail.com. This policy applies to our website and its vehicle valuation API.
Photos and valuation requests
When you choose a photo, your browser creates a preview. Submitting it sends the image to our API on Railway over HTTPS. Our API resizes and re-encodes it, removing embedded image metadata from the version sent for analysis. It forwards the processed image and an appraisal prompt through OpenRouter to an AI model provider. The service is configured by default to use a Google Gemini model through OpenRouter; provider routing can vary.
The model may use a web-search service for pricing context. Its response includes inferred vehicle details, an estimated U.S. value range, and explanatory text. Do not upload people, identity documents, addresses, or other information you do not want processed. Crop or cover readable plates and personal details before submitting, and use photos you have permission to share.
Storage and retention
We do not provide a user account, photo gallery, or saved valuation history. Photos and results are used to process your request and display the current result; refreshing or leaving the page normally clears that result from the interface. Upload handling can use temporary server files as well as memory. This does not mean that no information is stored anywhere.
Hosting, security, and error logs may include IP addresses, request times, response codes, file types, and diagnostic information. Some API error logs can contain excerpts of model responses. These records support troubleshooting and abuse prevention. Provider and hosting retention is governed by their policies and account settings; we do not promise immediate deletion or zero retention across those services.
OpenRouter and downstream model/search providers have their own retention and data-use rules. We do not promise that every provider offers the same retention period or excludes all training uses. See OpenRouter’s privacy policy and provider data policies. Contact us before uploading if your requirements depend on a specific retention period.
Security and essential processing
Cloudflare Turnstile checks requests for abuse. The browser interacts with Cloudflare, and our API verifies the resulting token with your IP address. Our rate limiter also uses IP addresses. These security checks are necessary to protect the service and remain available when optional tracking is declined. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Railway’s privacy policy.
Google advertising and conversion measurement
With your optional advertising permission, Google Ads measures visits and successful valuations. Our conversion event sends an anonymous attempt identifier and the conversion destination. We do not include the photo, filename, vehicle details, or estimated vehicle value in that event. Google’s tags may separately process technical information such as IP address, browser details, page URL, ad-click identifiers, and cookies.
If publisher advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads. Personalized advertising may depend on visits to this and other websites and is subject to the applicable consent message. See how Google uses information from partner sites. You can manage personalization at Google My Ad Center or visit industry opt-out choices. Those controls do not replace this site’s consent choices.
Google’s consent-management service loads on the production website to determine which regional message applies and remember your decision. This connection happens independently of optional advertising and analytics permission. Google can receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and page URL for that service. Loading the consent service does not itself authorize our advertising tags. Publisher ads remain paused until the required regional choices and your optional advertising permission allow them.
Where Google’s regional controls are available, our Privacy settings panel and footer include a link to reopen the European message or the US “Do not sell or share” dialog, where an opt-out has not already been recorded. These publisher-ad choices are separate from our optional measurement controls. You can reject optional processing here even if Google’s message is unavailable.
Optional analytics and your choices
If configured and you permit analytics, Plausible receives page and browser information to report aggregate site usage. See Plausible’s data policy. We do not send uploaded photos or valuation results as analytics events.
Our privacy controls let you accept, reject, or customize optional advertising and analytics. We store your choice in this browser for up to 180 days, or for the current session if browser storage is unavailable. Declining optional processing does not prevent a valuation. You can at any time. Withdrawing permission reloads the page to stop loaded optional scripts and attempts to clear accessible first-party advertising cookies. It does not undo data already sent or clear cookies controlled by other websites. You can also clear cookies through your browser.
Contact, requests, and international processing
If you email us, we receive the message and contact details needed to respond. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on the use of personal information. Send requests to vehiclevalueai@gmail.com; describe the approximate time and nature of the interaction without resending sensitive photos. We may need to verify a request and may retain records needed for security or other obligations.
Our infrastructure and service providers may process information outside your country. Provider policies explain their handling and available safeguards. This service is intended for adults making vehicle-pricing comparisons. We may update this policy when our processing changes; the date above identifies the current version.
